The photos above are taken of a shell I collected from a trip I took to California. This is a place my family and I go every summer, and when I was littler, I would always bring home shells from the beaches we went to. In this picture I wanted to show the detail and line of the shell, as well as the textures around the shell of the sand and rocks.
These photos are taken of a pair of my riding boots. I have been horseback riding for about five or six years now, and I love doing it. When taking these images, I wanted to capture the mud and dirt on the boots to show that they're worn. I also wanted to show the contrast between the bright green grass and the darker boots.
These photos are taken of an apple cinnamon donut from Wiard's orchard. This object has significance to me because we get delicious donuts and apples form this orchard every fall, and go through corn mazes there as well. When taking this photo I wanted to show the details of the sugar granules and the crumbs on the donut, I also took advantage of the background which shows fall leaves scattered on the brick ground.
I took these photos of a soccerball that I've had for a while. I have played soccer since I was in kindergarten, now have been on a number of different teams. Soccer is a big part of my life. When taking this image I wanted to show the detail of the soccer ball around the edges of each shape, and show the blades of grass in front of and around the ball.
This is a photo of a flower called "Rose of Sharon" that is on a big bush in my backyard. When I was littler I would always try to pick these flowers from the bush. They also represent where I've lived because these flowers have always been there. I also just love how they look. In the photo on the left, I wanted to use the use of shadows, highlights, and exposure from the sun to accentuate the petals and center of the flower.
